The Satchel was designed after several requests from people wanting a 'laptop' bag in which they could fit their lunchbox, drink bottle and jumper as well as extra folders and paperwork.
Since making the Satchel other uses have been discovered – as a; nappy bag, work bag, student bag, laptop travel bag, overnight bag or art bag...no doubt there are more!
The Satchel has two removable internal pocket and a removable internal divider to stop the sides from gaping, this allows more flexibility in terms of how you can use the bag. The large internal pocket easily fits a laptop computer, the small pocket is great for power cords, mouse, etc - those things that get tangled in everything when you're travelling. It really is a very versatile bag which you can set up in the way that suits you best.
The Satchel has a fixed front pocket (below the flap) which is great for carrying keys, phone and other little bits and pieces.

Modifications
As I design and make the bags myself, I am happy to make modifications if you require. Some modifictions will not cost any extra, examples include - lengthening or shortening the strap, removing the pocket, etc. Others however will incur an extra charge, examples may include - adding an extra pocket, changing the dimensions of the bag, etc.

Materials
The Satchel is made from canvas and seatbelt webbing. The base is reinforced with corflute (the stuff 'For Sale' signs are made from) and the webbing is sewn along the base ensuring the bags strength and structural integrity.
Wear
Canvas will 'wear' in a similar way to stonewash denim – at corners and along edges there will be a tendency to lighten. This will not effect the strength of the fabric.
Cleaning Canvas is hard wearing. You can wipe over the whole bag with plain water. Avoid spot cleaning and do not use soaps, bleach or other cleaning products.

The Blue Mallee Satchel comes in four fantastic colours - Black, Ripstop Green, Ripstop Brown and Ripstop Red.
All the internal parts of the Satchel are removable. There is a large removable pocket that easily fits a laptop computer. The small removable pocket is ideal if you are travelling with a computer, you can contain your power cord, mouse (if you carry one) and other bits and pieces that get tangled in your bag. The bag also has an removable internal divider. The divider holds the side panels of the bag which stops the sides gaping when the bag is closed and not chock-a-block full.
All Blue Mallee bags have 'seatbelt webbing' straps that are sewn down both sides and across the base. They also have a corflute base sewn into the bag. These two features ensure the strength, durability and shape of the bag.
The Blue Mallee Work Bag and the Satchel are essentially the same dimension, except the Satchel is twice the width. I originally made the Work Bag. I had requests from customers who wanted a wider bag in which they could fit their computer and their lunch box and drink bottle (plus other bits and pieces). This ripstop canvas would normaly be used to make horse rugs. It is very durable and weatherproof. The square pattern you can see are nylon threads woven into the cavas for increased strength - they also make a fabulous design texture for the bag.
The purple canvas is a 14oz canvas, this would normally be used for making swags. The black canvas is slightly heavier at about 16oz. Both are very strong and weatherproof.I usually don't make the Satchel in the purple canvas as it is slightly lighter weight than the ripstop canvas and black canvas. I am able to make the Satchel in the purple but do not have any in stock and will need the lee time to make the bag.
All Blue Mallee bags with a shoulder strap have a camlock buckle for easy manipulation of the strap length.
